About me
Amy Kurzweil is a New Yorker cartoonist and the author of two award-winning graphic memoirs: Flying Couch and Artificial: A Love Story, which was named a Best Book of 2023 by NPR, The New Yorker, and Kirkus. She is the 2024 winner of the Overseas Press Club’s “Best Cartoon Award,” and she was a 2021 Berlin Prize Fellow. Her comics have been nominated for a Reuben Award and an Ignatz Award. Amy has also received fellowships from The Black Mountain Institute, Yaddo, MacDowell and Djerassi. Her work is published often in The LA Times, The Believer, The Verge, and many other places. Her next book is Graphic Memory, a guide to making and appreciating graphic memoir, forthcoming with Bloomsbury. Amy teaches widely. Find her on Patreon to join her monthly cartooning class.
