About me
D. M. Spratley is a writer from the American South. A Wallace Stegner Fellow, Cave Canem Fellow, North Carolina Arts Council Fellow, and William C. Friday Fellow for Human Relations, she graduated from the MFA program at Hollins University and studied comparative literature and creative writing at Princeton University. Her work has appeared in Poetry Magazine, Best New Poets, The Adroit Journal, the Lambda Literary Poetry Spotlight, and elsewhere. She has taught writing and literature at Stanford University, Lenoir-Rhyne University, Duke University’s Nasher Museum of Art, and as core faculty and Chief Strategy Officer for the public humanities organization Night School Bar. She is a Jones Lecturer in creative writing at Stanford University, and is at work on a poetry manuscript, a novel, and a collection of critical lyric essays.
