About me
Jane Ganahl was the co-founder, with Jack Boulware, of Litquake. She is also a writer, teacher, and animal activist. As a Hearst newspaper journalist with the Examiner and Chronicle for 25 years, she covered the arts, and wrote the “Single Minded” column, which led to her memoir, Naked on the Page: The Misadventures of My Unmarried Midlife, published by Viking. Her essays have appeared in Spirituality & Health, Huffington Post, Bazaar, and Salon, as well as in four anthologies. She teaches personal essay around the Bay Area, from OLLI at Berkeley to Book Passage to Kepler’s to Page Street. In semi-retirement, she rescues stray cats near her coastal home, dotes on her granddaughter and works on her middle-grade novel about – what else? – cats.
