About me
Michelle Ibarra is a Xicana poet with roots in both San Francisco’s Mission District and South City. Her poetic practice is heavily influenced by the 1970s Xicanx art movement, Rasquachismo, her working class upbringing, and her hatred for the governing state. Through her work, she explores queer sexuality, Catholic iconography, drug user liberation, and love at the end of the world. She has an upcoming zine called Three Love Poems and A Song of Despair.
