About me
Rebeca Abidaíl Flores is a Mexican and Salvadoran artist from Fresno, CA. She connects working class labor to joy. In her artistic practice, she creates objects rooted in labor like paletas, mangüeras, and camisas to reimagine them as interactive pieces of play. Her creative fellowships include the Latinx Teaching Artist Fellow at Root Division, Bloomberg Tech Fellow with Acción Latina, and a Teaching Artist at the University of San Francisco and San Francisco State University. She has been an artist in residence at The Ruby, Story Knife in Alaska, Gracia Residency in Guatemala, Laureate Lab Visual Wordist Studio with Juan Felipe Herrera. Rebeca currently works as the Public Programs Manager with First Exposures, working with youth and mentors to blend both photography and arts education. She curates for the Ramp Gallery at SOMArts and is a part of the All SF Committee for San Francisco Symphony.
